Master Plan
Phase 1
Oak St. - South St.
A better park starts with a plan.
This master plan is the culminating collaborative effort of many groups and individuals, from local government offices and engineering firms to nonprofits and private citizens. The result is a master plan that reflects the desires of the community prioritizing feasible, environmentally friendly, community-focused, resilient solutions to the Park’s challenges.
Working collaboratively, D.W. Field Park Initiative partners developed 3 overarching goals and identified 13 capital improvement projects based on findings from community surveys, scientific studies and assessments, and strategic planning sessions. Graduate landscape design students created conceptual designs to inspire future possibilities for key gathering areas and roadway sections.
The D.W. Field Park Initiative will use this master plan to continue to raise the profile of the Park as a critical and highly valued community resource. Implementation of capital improvement projects will take place over the next 10 years, with improvements for the northern and southern areas of the Park planned and implemented concurrently.
