Conway School Public Outreach

Sustainable Landscape Design and Planning graduate students B Erving and Audrey Logan at The Conway School have been tasked with creating concept designs to address stormwater management and public accessibility at key areas throughout the park. They have spent their spring 2023 semester consulting with a Core Team of D.W. Field Park Initiative representatives and the public to complete this capstone project for graduation.

On May 6, the student team gathered input on park use by tabling at both a Kids Road Race at the park and at the Keep Brockton Beautiful Day celebration later that afternoon. This information, as well as community survey results and information from the Core Team informed their initial designs for 5 key areas in the park.

On June 4, the students recorded their zoom public outreach session to receive feedback on their initial designs for the Oak St. Parking Area and Waldo Lake Beach. Revised designs and other reporting from these bright and motivated students will be incorporated into the master plan.
